Cycling through the volcanic landscape
The most fantastic cycle way of the Vulkaaneifel:
THE MAARE-MOSEL WAY!
Beginning in Daun and goal is Bernkassel-Kues on the Mosel.
Between these city’s its about 54 Km.
This cycle way is about 3,5meters wide, and goes via an old railway. On the past one of the most beautiful railways of germany.
When you cycle over the “Maare-Mosel-Radweg” discover, over 54km and only 2,5% hillside the beautiful region.
The romantic lane will lead you over beautiful, bridges, through tunnels, and through the volcanic landscape.
Following the perfect signposts its possible to leave the mainroad and take the twelve corners that will lead you
along attractions on the sideway of the railway.
This will take you to for instance : clockfoundry from Brockscheid, the Eifelmoor, The nunnery Buchholz,
The City off Wittlich the castle in Lieset and much more.
In Bergkassel-Kues you can take the “Regio-Radler” Bus back to Daun. This bus will also take your cycle.
It is also possible to take the Maare-Mosel road back on your bike, but this will be very tough but very sporty.
On the way there are lots of opportunities to get a drink.
Tip: Eifelhotel Daun would like to reserve the Regio-Radler cyclebus for U then you will know for sure you have a place in the bus.
